Aisling Cliodhnadh (born 16th March 1984) is an Irish writer, actress and comedian. Bea began her stand-up journey in the year 2011, following appearances in bits on various Irish TV shows as well as British series since the year 2009. Their father Brian was an equine veterinarian who took his own life at the age of Bea was only three years old though she was not told about his death until she reached the age of 13. In 2017 she created an essay in The Guardian about the suicide of her father's family and chose to adopt her stage name Bea to honor him. Bea together with her younger sister Sinead, were fostered by Helen Moloney (nee Moloney) as a former jockey and teacher in a secondary school. Their family was enthralled by horses and race meetings. Bea worked as a guide at The Irish National Stud in her young years. She knew, however it wasn't something she wanted to pursue as an occupation and she preferred to perform.
