Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine, a singer-composer recognized for his unique blend that combines soul jazz R&B as well as R&B. She has performed on Broadway, at the Democratic National Convention and in concerts and festivals across Europe. Sunshine has the name Denise White. Though she lives in Atlanta her roots are in Chester Pennsylvania where she began her music career by singing as well as playing the piano at church. In Atlanta she went to Spellman College where her musical education began in the local R&B Scene. The Fighting Temptations The first single with her vocals was Stalk You A house 12 released only in Japan; it has since been re-mixed by many producers and remains a mainstay of her live set. She also lent her voice on the soundtrack to The Fighting Temptations. In 2005 she was hired as the lead keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns. In 2007 Grammy and Tony award-winning singer Jennifer Holliday sought her out to be the director of choral for the stage production of Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine was recognized nationally during her four daily performances in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform at President Barack Obama's 2008 inauguration.
